2020 Music Blog

This is my blog where I write words that I would otherwise bore my girlfriend with.

I must be getting old

Two mp3s from two bands I'm enjoying today since I won't be near a computer til after the weekend (hallelujah). The first is from Camera Obscura, a Scottish band championed by John Peel. They have a female singer and make a very mellow, sweet noise. Album's out now if you buy those sorts of things.

Camera Obscura - Oh Margaret - http://www.sendspace.com/file/zxubhu

The second MP3 is from Tinydancers, a Sheffield band that sounds nothing like the Arctics. They're touring with The Feeling at the mo, but don't let that put you off. They have a wicked sense of humour (check out their two previous 7" releases at http://www.puregroove.co.uk - the sleeves feature the adventures of a cartoon tiger as he struggles to find fame) and a knack for creating catchy, foot-stompy type music.

Tinydancers - Bonfire of the Night - http://www.sendspace.com/file/oc99gr

I'll be seeing both of them in the next month or so, so look for a report on those. Jesus, this is the kind of music I'm getting excited about these days: I must be getting old.

Yo, two GREAT bands. I really recommend Camera Obscura if you like old skool Belle and Sebastian or slightly twee indie at all. Which I do. Their album Biggest Bluest Hi Fi is fantastic. You may also like Ballboy, another great Scottish artist whos album The Sash Your Father Wore is also GREAT~!

Heard a bit of The Tiny Dancers and really liked what ive heard.
